How to Order Your Records
Send us an email with your requirements, including the quantity, record size and audio files, to: republicartists@gmail.com
Please send the audio using a download link such as WeTransfer, Dropbox or Google Drive.
Name your files as follows:

Place all files in a folder named after your project.

PLAYING TIME
When cutting vinyl records, the achievable playback volume is affected by the total playing time.
There is a direct trade-off between playback time and cutting level:
Louder cut = shorter playing time
Longer playing time = lower cutting level
The playing times below are recommended for achieving a loud, high-quality cut.
7″
Maximum playing time is 4 minutes per side.
For the best sound quality, we recommend a maximum of 3 minutes per side.
10″
Maximum playing time is 9 minutes per side.
For the best sound quality, we recommend a maximum of 7 minutes per side.
12″
Maximum playing time is 16 minutes per side.
For the best sound quality, we recommend a maximum of 12 minutes per side.
AUDIO FORMATS
Please provide your audio in the highest possible quality.
We accept formats such as:
- WAV
- FLAC
- AIFF
- and other high-quality lossless formats
Transfers from CD or audio cassette are also possible, although the final sound quality may be lower than when working directly from high-resolution digital audio files.
We prefer vinyl-ready masters at 24-bit / 44.1 kHz, 24-bit / 48 kHz or higher.
PREPARING ARTWORK FOR CENTRE LABELS AND OUTER SLEEVES
For digital printing, artwork should ideally be supplied as a print-ready PDF with fonts converted to outlines.
If this is not possible, we also accept PNG or JPG files at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
Please include a 3 mm bleed around the artwork.
If you are a graphic designer or work with a professional designer, please download our templates for the record sleeve and centre label.If you are not familiar with graphic design software, simply send us the images and material you would like to use and we can prepare the artwork for you for an additional £20
VINYL MASTERING
If you want your recordings to sound their best on vinyl, we can professionally master them for you.
Price: £5 per minute of audio
On request, the mastering price can also include a digital master in addition to the vinyl master.
The digital master can be louder and does not require the technical adjustments necessary for transferring audio to a vinyl record.
TURNAROUND TIME
1–4 copies: approximately 2 weeks
5–9 copies: approximately 3 weeks
10–50 copies: approximately 4 weeks or more
Express Orders
Production within 10 days is available for an additional 50% of the final order price.
Express service is available for a maximum of 4 copies.
PAYMENT TERMS

Will My Record Sound Different From the Master?
There are certain physical limitations involved in cutting records, which means that the finished record may not sound completely identical to the digital file you provide.
The final sound can also be affected by other factors, including the cartridge, turntable and turntable setup used for playback.
The sound quality is very similar to what you would expect from a traditionally pressed vinyl record.
The final playback volume may be higher or lower depending on the audio material supplied.
When preparing your tracks for vinyl cutting, we recommend paying particular attention to the following:
High-Frequency De-Essing
Reduce excessive sibilance and problematic high frequencies to minimise distortion during cutting and playback.
Stereo Image
An excessively wide stereo image can cause problems during cutting because the cutting stylus must physically create one continuous groove.
Low Frequencies
We recommend keeping frequencies below approximately 150 Hz in mono.
This keeps the bass centred in the stereo image and helps create a more stable groove.
Our sound engineer will always do everything possible to transfer your music to vinyl at the highest possible quality. Some limitations, however, are inherent to the physical properties of the vinyl format itself.
Which Is Better – 45 or 33⅓ RPM?
45 RPM generally offers higher sound quality because a greater length of groove passes underneath the stylus every second.
This can provide cleaner high-frequency reproduction and lower perceived noise, particularly towards the inner grooves of the record.
33⅓ RPM allows more music to be fitted onto each side of the record because the lower speed allows the available groove space to be used more efficiently.
The disadvantage can be slightly reduced high-frequency reproduction and, in some cases, more noticeable surface noise.
If maximum sound quality is your priority and the playing time allows it, we recommend 45 RPM.
If you need to fit a longer recording onto the record, 33⅓ RPM is usually the better choice.
Will My Master Need to Be Adjusted Before Cutting?
Yes.
All tracks need to be optimised for our cutting system.
This optimisation prepares the supplied audio so that it can be safely and accurately cut onto the record.
This is not a complete mastering service.
It is a technical vinyl mastering process, which is already included in the production price.
How Long Will Our Records Last Compared With Traditionally Pressed Vinyl?
Our records are made from durable PETG material and, when handled correctly, have a very long lifespan.
Unlike traditional acetate dubplates, which can wear relatively quickly with repeated playback, our records are designed for repeated and long-term use.
Traditional pressed PVC vinyl remains the most durable standard. However, when played on a properly set-up turntable with a good-quality, undamaged stylus, our lathe-cut records can last for many years and hundreds of plays without significant deterioration in sound quality.
As with any record, lifespan is strongly influenced by:
- the condition of the stylus
- correct tracking force
- cleanliness of the record
- correct handling
- proper storage

How Long Does Production Take?
Cutting records is a precise process carried out in real time.
The cutting process itself cannot be significantly accelerated or bypassed.
Our standard turnaround time is approximately 14–21 working days from the date we receive and approve all required audio files, artwork and other materials.
During particularly busy periods, or for orders containing 10 or more records, production may take longer.
